Madison Willing is a film composer, music producer and DJ born in North London and grew up between London, Los Angeles and New York.
Having trained in classical flute and piano at the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama before studying jazz flute at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, her composition work developed into the worlds of neo-classical, minimalism, techno and ambient music at Edinburgh University.
In 2017 and 2019 she scored two BBC Arena documentaries about the artists Sean Scully and Paula Rego, which have won awards such as the Royal Television Society and Grierson Award for Best Arts Documentary.
In 2020 she scored many short films while studying a Masters Degree in Film Composing at the National Film and Television School, including the BIFA longlisted “Princess” and BAFTA shortlisted “The Flying Gold of Arabuko,” which screened at festivals such as Jackson Wild, NaturVision, Aesthetica, Norwich, and BFI Future Film Festival. Her graduation films include A Film About A Pudding, which has recently been longlisted for a BAFTA Best British Animation Award, and All Is Now, which has just been shortlisted for a Grierson Award.
Since graduating the NFTS in 2021, she has worked on two feature documentaries and collaborated with music producers on upcoming record releases. Her debut vinyl EP, in collaboration with the renowned drum and bass producer dBridge, will be released in February 2022 on Exit Records.
