Following her early scores for BBC Arts commissioned feature documentaries Paula Rego: Secrets & Stories (Grierson and Royal Television Society Award Winner), and Unstoppable: Sean Scully and the Art of Everything, Madison was selected by BAFTA for the new Connect membership scheme and subsequently joined Martin Phipps’ team on The Crown as the primary music editor and additional music composer throughout all ten episodes of Season 5. Her recent score for Signora Volpe S2 (Acorn TV, Amazon UK) follows Academy Award Winner Anne Dudley’s score for Season 1. Further credits include BAFTA nominated The Flying Gold of Arabuko, BAFTA nominated A Film About A Pudding, and Royal Television Society Award Winning Requiem starring Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones, The Last of Us).
Metabolising varying styles, approaches, and emotive writing within a wholly distinctive artistic spirit, Madison Willing levitates somewhere on the precipice between sight and sound. Most recently, her debut album Birth LP released on Exit Records accompanied by a self-directed dance film “Thinking of You” (NOWNESS) and a Remix EP featuring Synkro, Ehua, Itoa, Sinistarr and COIDO. Currently, Madison prepares a live tour with dance music pioneer dBridge following the recent headline show at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA, London). The collaborative project has been acclaimed as ‘a masterclass in cinematic and emotional electronic music’ (DJ Mag).
Madison’s extensive training includes an MA in Composing from The National Film & Television School, an MA in Music from Edinburgh University, Jazz Studies and Classical Orchestration from Junior Royal Academy and Flute and Piano Studies from Junior Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
