Composer, Artist, Performer

Working across film, performance and visual art, Madison Willing creates immersive sonic environments in which piano, orchestral writing and electronic systems form evolving textures that behave like living organisms. Combining traditional orchestration with contemporary production, she composes atmospheric, emotionally resonant scores shaped by repetition, suspended harmony and gradual transformation. Her work explores the tension between musical inheritance and technological change, blending orchestral erosion with electronic deconstruction so that tradition fractures and regenerates within contemporary landscapes of sound.

Madison has contributed as additional composer on Netflix’s The Crown alongside Martin Phipps. Her lead composer credits include BBC Arts’ Paula Rego: Secrets & Stories (Grierson and Royal Television Society Award Winner), Signora Volpe (Amazon/Acorn TV), RTS Award-winning Requiem starring Bella Ramsey of Game of Thrones and The Last of Us, Student Academy Award Winner The Twelve Inch Pianist, and BAFTA shortlisted productions including The Flying Gold of Arabuko and A Film About A Pudding. She is currently scoring the upcoming British folk horror feature Deepest Darkest.

Alongside her screen work, Madison composed the theatrical production NORA, which premiered at Zorlu PSM, closed the 2024 Istanbul Theatre Festival and ran until the end of 2025.

Her musical releases include the debut album Birth LP on Exit Records, accompanied by the self-directed dance film Thinking of You, which premiered on NOWNESS. She has also collaborated with drum and bass pioneer dBridge on the Made In Silence EP, and developed a live show which premiered at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) and has appeared internationally, with DJ Mag praising the work as “a masterclass in cinematic and emotional electronic music.” Her soundtracks and visual works have been performed live at events including Virus (W1 Curates), reflecting a practice in which strong visual identity and sonic composition evolve together.

Madison holds an MA in Composing from the National Film & Television School and an MA in Music from the University of Edinburgh, with early training at Junior Royal Academy and Junior Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Across disciplines, her work creates contemplative listening spaces in which sound becomes landscape, ritual and living structure.
